Date:2026/01/28
Saluki, the sighthound, is one of the oldest known dog breeds in written history, famous for their elegant build, astonishing speed of up to 60 kilometers per hour, and exceptional endurance. This name perfectly encapsulates the core spirit of the Taiwanese performance wheelset brand "Saluki": a craving for speed, a pursuit of lightness, and the precision and explosive power demonstrated in competition.
Origin and Mission
The founding team of Saluki has accumulated over 20 years of profound experience in the bicycle industry. On March 18, 2017, the brand was officially established, shouldering a clear mission: to provide high-value products that challenge the limits of performance, allowing every rider to achieve greater efficiency.
Just 11 days later, the SK series wheelsets (25/38/55) made their debut at the Taipei Cycle Show, starting a new chapter for the brand.
Forged in Competition: From KOM Champion to the International Stage
Saluki's value is demonstrated not just in product specifications, but through verification in actual races. The brand's history is full of challenges and honors:
• KOM Dominance: On October 21, 2017, a sponsored athlete using SK25 wheelsets ascended the highly challenging KOM race route with a Taiwan overall rank of fourth and a group rank of first. This achievement was replicated in the summer 2019 KOM, where an athlete secured overall first and a group fourth place.
• International Expansion: In May 2018, Saluki first ventured abroad, appearing at exhibitions in Bangkok, Thailand, and Shanghai. The brand actively engages in international exchange; they sponsored athlete Hsu Ming-Kai for the 2019 Tour de Korea, and Chen Chih-Yu for the Asian Championships.
• Local Care: The brand also pays attention to specific communities, sponsoring the Tour de Taiwan for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in November 2018, demonstrating corporate social responsibility.
Technological Innovation: The Evolution of Hub Generations
The soul of Saluki wheelsets lies in their continuous R&D and commitment to core components—the hubs. They insist on using Taiwanese-made components for their hubs, ensuring quality and reliability.
• First Generation KLD (2018): Launched super lightweight disc brake hubs, starting the journey of weight reduction.
• Second Generation (2020): The main change was upgrading to a star-ratchet structure, significantly improving power transmission efficiency and engagement reliability.
• Third Generation (2023): Upgraded materials to aerospace-grade 7075 aluminum alloy, using military-spec precision machining techniques to enhance ultimate stiffness and durability.
• Fourth Generation KLD-G460T (Est. 2026): A completely new version incorporating multiple patents, targeting future market trends.
Collaborations and Product Portfolio Expansion
Saluki also actively seeks cross-industry collaborations to expand its product ecosystem.
• Collaboration with PAX: In September 2022, Saluki collaborated with PAX to launch co-branded wheelsets, combining the strengths of both parties to offer more diverse choices to the market.
• Diverse Product Lines: The brand continues to launch innovative products, from the 2019 KL25A ceramic rim brake wheelsets to the 2023 KLD4540 wavy rim profile and KLD six-spoke wheels, as well as the 2024 G3 series. Saluki constantly meets rider demands through innovation.
Saluki, the brand originating from Taiwan and named after speed, continues to pursue its own limits in the cycling market through continuous R&D, race verification, and product innovation.
